Current developments and perspectives in higher education and the organisational structure of higher education institutions are the focus of this department. In addition to fundamental analyses and recommendations on the overall situation of the higher state education system in Germany, on tasks, performance, organisational and decision-making structures, institutional differentiation and internationalisation, questions of the quality of teaching and learning, personnel and career development at higher education institutions and the relationship between higher education and the labour market are also considered here.
