Wolfgang Wick new Chair of the German Science and Humanities Council
Wolfgang Wick, a neuro-oncologist at Heidelberg University Hospital, will become the new chairman of the German Science and Humanities Council effective February 1, 2023. As the 22nd chairman of the science policy advisory body of the federal and state governments, he succeeds Dorothea Wagner, a computer scientist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Wagner had held the post since Feb. 1, 2020, and was the third female chair of the German Science and Humanities Council. Her membership ends after eight years.
