This accessibility statement applies to the www.wissenschaftsrat.de and to the www.wissenschaftsrat.de/EN websites.
The German Science and Humanities Council (Wissenschaftsrat, WR) and its head office are currently working to make the www.wissenschaftsrat.de and the www.wissenschaftsrat.de/EN website accessible. The goal is for interested parties with special needs to be able to access information as easily as possible and find their way around our website.
As a public institution according to EU Directive 2016/2102, the Science and Humanities Council is intent on aligning its website and mobile application with the guidelines of the Ordinance on the Creation of Barrier-free Information Technology under the Disability Equality Act (BGG) and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).
The Federal Monitoring Agency for Accessibility of Information Technology (BFIT-Bund) has carried out a simplified audit of the www.wissenschaftsrat.de website. The web pages were found not yet to be compliant with the BITV or WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). However, we are in the process of revising them accordingly.
Some areas are currently being worked on. The Science and Humanities Council is aiming to implement an accessible service as soon as possible.
Easy language: We are currently working on making our website available in easy language (Leichte Sprache, LS).
Sign language: in planning.
Accessible PDF documents: We are working on the technical implementation of accessible PDF documents. Until this is completed, please contact us should you need help with a document so that we can find a solution together.
Contrast: The placeholders of the input fields, the links of the search term suggestion list, the texts for graphics and the entries of the search term suggestion list are sometimes difficult to read if the font is enlarged. The input fields are difficult to recognise.
Single-column layout: The content does not always break into a readable single-column layout.
Submenus: The automatically displayed submenus cannot be closed with the ESC key.
Keyboard focus: The keyboard focus is sometimes difficult to see.
Names, roles and values: These are partially impossible to define.
We invite you to contact us if you notice any lack in the accessibility of the content of www.wissenschaftsrat.de/EN.
