The Excellence Strategy is jointly managed by the Wissenschaftsrat (WR, German Science and Humanities Council) and the DFG (German Research Foundation). While the DFG administers the Clusters of Excellence funding line, the WR is responsible for administering the Universities of Excellence funding line.
